What to expect

Sofia's Main Landmarks
We will start with the main symbol of the city - the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. You will hear the story of its construction and be impressed by the magnificent interiors. Next, you will see the St. Sofia Basilica, in honor of which the capital was named, the tomb of the famous poet and patriarch of Bulgarian literature Ivan Vazov, and the statue of Tsar Samuel. And at the local flea market, you will examine Soviet antiques, Bulgarian national items, icons, and paintings.

Russian Church, Baroque Theatre, and Royal Palace
In the Russian Church of St. Nicholas, you will descend into the crypt with the sarcophagus of St. Seraphim of Sofia and, according to local tradition, write a note with a secret wish. And passing through a picturesque square, you will see the Royal Palace surrounded by mighty trees and flower beds and the magnificent Ivan Vazov National Theatre in the Viennese Baroque style.

Sofia Through the Ages
Sofia is one of the oldest cities in Europe. You will see the ancient ruins of the amphitheater, once the second largest after the Colosseum. And as you stroll along the cobbled streets of the old Serdika district, you will learn about the city's first inhabitants and see the Rotunda of St. George. And I will tell you why Constantine the Great called Serdika 'his Rome'.

Sofia from the Inside
In Independence Square, you will see buildings of different religions coexisting harmoniously: an Orthodox church, a Catholic church, a synagogue, and a mosque. I will reveal their history and, in conclusion, share tips from a local: which museums and galleries to visit, where to try national dishes, and where to go shopping.
