About this experience
This tour is the hallmark of the capital, including all its iconic places and architectural landmarks. The oldest street in the city, the widest avenue on the continent, colorful neighborhoods, gardens and parks, magnificent ancient monuments, stories of famous Argentinians and historical milestones - in a day you will gain a comprehensive understanding of Buenos Aires and its uniqueness.
What to Expect
- We will start with Lezama Park - the first unsuccessful attempt to create a city, talk about Columbus and Hidalgo Mendes.
- You will see Holy Trinity Cathedral - the first Russian Orthodox church in Latin America. And you will learn what Dr. Botkin has to do with it.
- We will visit famous cafes, where Saint-Exupéry and dictator Juan Peron loved to sit.
- We will walk along the oldest street in the city, Defensa Fair and Immigrants Market, talk about Jesuits and the British invasion.
- You will see the most beautiful school in Argentina and La Manzana de las Luces quarter. I will tell you about dictatorship and the terrifying event 'Night of the Pencils.'
- Then we will head to May Square, where you will learn about the incredible transformations and adventures of the city's main square. We will explore the public Cabildo building and the Main Cathedral of Buenos Aires.
- We will talk about Evita Peron, the most popular woman in Argentina, and climb to the observation deck.
- Next, we will visit Puerto Madero - a prestigious district of English docks, Women's Bridge, and Costanera Sur Reserve.
- We will take a photo at the Obelisk on the widest avenue on the continent and admire my favorite architectural ensemble in Buenos Aires - Congress.
- I will explain why the saying 'Rich as an Argentine' was popular in Europe.
- You will also see one of the most beautiful reservoirs in the world.
- We will have lunch at a traditional restaurant where they probably make the most 'Argentinian' parrilla (national barbecue) in the city.
- Then we will go to the Recoleta aristocracy district, visit San Martin Square and Retiro train station.
