About this experience
In the 18-19 centuries, changes occurred in the organization of cemeteries in European cities. The specificity of the cemetery space went beyond functioning and became a place for storing and honoring traditions, signs of identity. You will touch the culture of Serbia as you stroll through the alleys of Novo Groblje, which has absorbed the country's history for almost two centuries.

- You will learn about the history of the cemetery's emergence and understand how it became a unique open-air museum
- You will visit the territory of Jewish burials and hear about the tragic fate of the Jewish community in Serbia
- You will visit memorials to Russian soldiers of the First and Second World Wars and peek into a chapel built with funds from Russian immigrants
- You will understand the peculiarities of traditional Serbian burial places and walk along the alley where famous scientists, artists, politicians, and writers are buried
- You will see where the Russian military commander Georgy Gotua and the chief architect of Yalta Nikolai Krasnov are laid to rest
