About this experience
Our walk is perfect for those who want to visit maximum sights at a comfortable pace. In 3 hours, we will cover the entire center of Belgrade, mentally tracing its 2000 years of existence. We will see the layers of epochs on modern buildings and semi-ruined walls of Kalemegdan. Behind the facades, we will discover the amazing - tragic and life-affirming - history of the Serbs.
What to expect
- Republic Square - the main square of Belgrade and a favorite meeting place for locals
- Prince Michael Street - the main pedestrian artery of the capital, the best place to delve into the history of urban restructuring.
- Kalemegdan Fortress, standing here since the Roman Empire
- Dorcol District - the oldest (and most elite) district of Belgrade
- Skadarlija - the main alcohol and gastro street of the Serbian capital
- Hotel “Moscow”. A symbol of friendship between nations and at the same time - a good commercial project
- People's Assembly - the Parliament of Serbia under an authentic name
- St. Sava Temple, where you will learn the story of how Sava created cats to fight mice
During the walk we will:
- Passing by noisy establishments, we will comprehend the philosophy of “polako”
- Studying the main temples of Belgrade, we will find the place where Wrangel is buried
- Walking past monuments, we will come across the monument to Nicholas II
- Discussing the peculiarities of Serbian culture and local folklore, we will feel how the Serbs and Belgrade become more understandable and closer
- Discussing bars and restaurants on the famous Skadarlija, we will find those that have become popular among Russian immigrants
