About this experience
Lisbon must be felt: narrow streets, shady squares, viewpoints, climbing funiculars, small benches, squares. Here you can smell coffee and fresh bread, hear the cries of lottery ticket sellers, the ringing of the yellow tram, and the cries of seagulls. During the walk, we will explore the center of Lisbon on foot and by tram, funicular, and elevator! Along the way, we will talk about the history of the city and its vivid features.
What to expect
We will see the morning in Bairro Alto - the district has already forgotten that the evening before it was teeming with life. A parishioner rushes slowly to the church of Saint Roch for Sunday service. The viewpoints are still empty, but soon they, and the famous cafes since the late 19th century, will be crowded, and a line will form for the Santa Justa elevator. Pedro IV Square will fill up from where you can see the ruins of the Carmelite Monastery, Maria II Theater, the famous Rossio Station, and the Restoration Square.
The always bustling Baixa will open its shops and the 28 tram will rush to the Saint George's fortress. The labyrinthine alleys of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon, keep many secrets that passersby are not even aware of. The residents themselves are living history. It is here that we will show you houses from the 16th-17th centuries and the Cathedral, the only church in Lisbon built in the Romanesque-Gothic style.
