What to Expect
Face to Face with Old Lisbon
The walk will start at Rossio Square, from where we will enter the ancient district of Mouraria, the birthplace of fado, the traditional Portuguese romance - we will talk about the features of this cultural symbol of the country, as well as show the best restaurants where you can listen to fado and taste local cuisine. You will stroll through the medieval and colorful Alfama, through the old streets of Graça: in both areas, you will end up at two or three lookout points overlooking the sea of tiled roofs. This route will help you see the entire Old Town as one big attraction and capture the spirit of Lisbon.
Portuguese Traditions and City 'Taming' Tips
You will, of course, learn basic historical facts about the capital and its main attractions, but overall you can expect an enjoyable walk with a light and relaxed atmosphere. Lisbon as an old good friend will share stories about the daily life and lifestyle of its residents, about the mentality and cuisine of the Portuguese.
