About this experience
Vinci will appeal to those who appreciate the coziness and charm of small towns. Beautiful natural landscapes, the house of Leonardo da Vinci, and a museum located in an ancient castle will transport us to the 15th century. I will share the most interesting facts from the biography of the great inventor, and together we will unravel some of his predictions.
What to Expect
Leonardo da Vinci
Traveling through the picturesque places of Chianti, we will head to the town of Vinci nestled among the hills. Along the way, we will stop by a legendary vineyard, which once served as a hunting lodge for the most powerful family in Europe. Here, you will have the opportunity to taste several varieties of wine and enjoy traditional local snacks. You will learn about Leonardo da Vinci's preferences and find a drink that perfectly suits your taste.
Familial home in the Alban Hills
In the village of Anchiano, among olive groves, lies the house where Leonardo was born and lived until the age of 14. Panoramic views of endless hills and wild vineyards, immortalized by the author in his works, will reveal to you. It was Tuscany that inspired him to heavenly pastorals, and there is nothing surprising that here the first landscape in the history of painting was created—a sketch of the Arno River valley. We will talk about the childhood of the "universal man," his unique creative method, and even interact with the master.
Genius, artist, inventor, musician…
We will visit the picture gallery and ascend to the historical center of the town of Vinci, where the largest museum dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci is located in Castello di Poppi Castle. Especially for the 500th anniversary of his death, jointly with the State Archive of Florence and the Uffizi Gallery, a large-scale exhibition was prepared. The museum's exposition is divided into sections, each dedicated to the scientific sphere in which the inventor revealed himself. I will talk about construction mechanisms, war machines, and legendary ornithopters, explain what "Leonardo's handwriting" is, and why contemporaries called him a wizard.
