About this experience
A walk through Milan will transport you back to the Renaissance era - a time of grand artistic revolutions and the legendary Leonardo. My narrative is structured like an intriguing detective story: it will reveal the ancient beauties of the city - the Sforza Castle and Piazza dei Mercanti, other places connected to da Vinci, and the secrets of the "Last Supper." You will learn how Leonardo's theory of perspective changed the course of history and feel the magical gift of the artist.
What to expect
Leonardo's Messages
Da Vinci lived in Milan for almost 20 years, and the city remembers his traces well. With me, you will stroll to Sforza Castle, where you will learn who and why once invited the artist there. You will visit Piazza dei Mercanti - the heart of the old city with palaces where many significant events of the past took place. I will tell you about the connection of this place with Leonardo and take you to the monument to the creator. And, of course, we will talk about Milan's main heritage: da Vinci left the city his most mystical work - "The Last Supper" on the biblical theme. You will see the 15th-century church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, whose walls house Leonardo's masterpiece, and, if you're lucky, you will also examine the work itself.
From Art to Alchemy
As an art historian, I will explain in simple terms about Leonardo's theory and his contribution to the development of painting. You will hear about how da Vinci's public activities led to the creation of Milan's first art academy - Achademia Leonardi Vinci. You will learn to "read between the lines" and understand the depth of Leonardo's works. You will realize the scale of the artist's personality and be able to assess the importance of his creativity - for Milan's cultural life and all of Europe during the Renaissance.
