About this experience
Vilnius, Trakai, Kaunas – three cities where all the history of Lithuania has taken place and continues to unfold. At different times, these cities were capitals. This trip is a real kaleidoscope of experiences for those who want to feel the essence of Lithuanian history, culture, architecture, and nature in one day. There won't be phrases like 'look to the right, look to the left', I will tell you vivid and important stories about Lithuania and its people, which you will surely understand and remember.
Program
- We will start the trip from Vilnius, from the streets of the old town. The panorama of the capital will open from the Gediminas Tower - the Great Duke of Lithuania and the founder of the city.
- After enjoying the Gothic architecture, predominant Baroque style, and strict Renaissance in the city ensemble, we will head to the modern part of Vilnius. We will visit Gediminas Avenue - the official street of the capital, the business center of the city - Constitution Avenue. We will drive through the streets of Vilnius's 'Rublyovka' - the park area of Turniškės.
- From Vilnius to Trakai - a half-hour drive by car. Trakai is the ancient capital of a once great state, now a small cozy town, picturesquely surrounded by lakes. The majestic Gothic castle on an island, the Church of Vytautas, the Užutrakis Palace - just a part of the attractions of 'Lithuanian Venice'.
- On the way to Kaunas, a typical Lithuanian landscape opens up - hilly terrain with emerald forests and blue-eyed lakes. The nature is modest, muted colors, cozy space...
- Kaunas - the temporary capital of Lithuania (in 1920-1939 the city was the capital of the Lithuanian Republic) - sprawls at the confluence of our largest rivers - the Nemunas and the Neris. Like all medieval cities, Kaunas began with a fortress castle, at the very confluence of the rivers. Next to the Gothic castle stands the Town Hall, a mandatory attribute of the city. The Kaunas Old Town, without exaggeration, is one of the most beautiful in Lithuania.
As a result, you will see the historical, architectural, and natural beauties of three of Lithuania's most important cities, learn about the events associated with them, and understand their significance in the evolution of the state and its people.
