What to Expect
Legends of Trakai Antiquity
On the former Market Square, where cars now drive and modern buildings stand in place of former market stalls, my tales of bygone eras will transport you to completely different settings. Near the Chapel Pillar of St. John of Nepomuk, you will learn why he is considered the defender of the city and what legends about his miracles have survived in folk memory. You will also discover the history of the 'Little Town' and its inhabitants - the mysterious representatives of Turkic-speaking peoples, the Karaites.
Legends of Lake Galve and Castle History
On the territory of the ruined and forgotten Peninsula Castle, now housing the Museum of Sacred Heritage, you will learn about the past glory of one of the largest stone fortresses of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Later in the program, we will talk separately about the largest and most beautiful lake in the region, its name and secrets. And finally, in the Trakai Castle, you will get acquainted with the rich exposition of the monument and its semi-fantastical stories.
