I will tell you about the founder of the dynasty, George Petrovich, who instilled fear in the Turks and led the Serbs in the first uprising against the Ottoman yoke. And about his grandson - King Peter I, who built this temple to perpetuate the dynasty and the memory of his great grandfather. You will hear the unusual story of the creation of the crown from a cannon, see family relics descended from ceremonial portraits, and a telegram that sparked the Great War. And you will discover that the last royal dynasty of Serbia is not just a historical fact, but living individuals who have their own social media presence and can be met at social events.
Russian Influence in the Balkans
I will tell you about Nikola Krasnov - the chief state architect of King Alexander and former imperial architect of Russia. It was under his guidance that the interior decoration of the church with a unique mosaic was executed. Let's talk about other compatriots who found refuge in Serbia. I will tell you about personalities who left a significant mark here and had a huge influence on architecture and art.
