About this experience
Mumbai is a city of contrasts. It's not a guidebook cliché, it's the truth of life. You will visit Bollywood, where multimillion-dollar movies are produced. You will observe the filming, visit the makeup room, and the sound recording studio. And to see the 'other Mumbai,' you will head to Dharavi - the slums where people live beyond poverty.
What to Expect
Dharavi: The Underbelly of the City
Dharavi is a district of Mumbai that became known after the release of the film 'Slumdog Millionaire.' It covers an area of just over 2 square kilometers, with over a million people living in it. Here, you will see the unfiltered India. A local guide will take you through the maze of winding alleys and show you the local way of life. You will also visit various productions: pottery, leather, and waste recycling. Learn about the working conditions and earnings of the people.
Bollywood: Bright Colors, Cinema, Dances
Behind the glamour, we will go to Bollywood - one of the active film studios where they produce shows, series, and movies. You will walk through the halls with decorations, observe the filming process, visit the sound recording room and makeup rooms. You will also try on Indian costumes and enjoy the dances popular in Bollywood films. Finally, watch three mini-films revealing the history of Indian cinema and special effects.
