About this experience
Stepping away from the well-known sights, we will stroll through non-touristy neighborhoods and witness incredible contrasts. You will explore all facets of the metropolis - slums next to dazzling temples. A village with an ancient reservoir, a mosque, and a tomb. And you will also experience local transportation - the metro and tuk-tuk.
What to expect
If you want to see the real life of the Indian capital, peek into corners untouched by tourists, this tour is for you! In a comfortable air-conditioned car, I will show you the hidden places of the city and teach you to distinguish the harmony hidden behind the external chaos and hustle.
You will see:
- authentic slums where people live in poverty and tight quarters, yet maintain optimism and support each other
- a temple dedicated to the god Krishna, attracting hundreds of people daily with its unique architecture
- the wholesale Chandni Chowk market, where traders from all over India still converge
- a local laundromat (if open) and a well with steps
- the small Hauz Khas village with an ancient reservoir, mosque, and 13/14th-century tomb.
A highlight of the program is a ride on public transport. While it may lack the comfort of a car, it certainly excels in speed! Moreover, it is ideal for sightseeing: no car can navigate through narrow alleys and remote quarters. Here is our plan:
- ride several stations of the metro on underground and elevated lines. From the elevated platform, you will see everything that is not visible from a car or a tourist bus, even a double-decker!
- ride a cycle rickshaw through the ancient narrow streets
