About this experience
One of the most colorful journeys in Amsterdam awaits you! First, you will take a walk through the district that local French people lovingly call the garden. You will learn why it is so good, see houseboats and the "Golden Ring" of canals. And then we will head to the Van Gogh Museum, where we will examine his paintings, recall his most fruitful period of creativity, and discuss the genius behind his artistry.
What to expect
Jordan: French Garden
Living in the Jordaan district is a source of pride: locals call themselves Jordaneers and often mention it in conversations. You will see that the Jordaan seems to be preserved in the 17th century. The secret is simple: the poor district with many manufactories lacked money to actively rebuild and keep up with architectural fashion. You will walk along the 9 streets of the Jordaan, learn the history of houseboats, and see the "Golden Ring" of Amsterdam canals.
Van Gogh Museum
In 1.5 hours, I will guide you through the complex destiny of the great Dutchman. We will discuss the genius's inner world, woven from experiences, fears, disappointments in love, and misunderstandings of loved ones. I will focus on the last three weeks of Van Gogh's life: during this time, he created a record number of masterpieces! I will also tell you about the biggest thefts within the museum walls and how pompously the residents of Amsterdam honor the memory of the artist.
