Despite this opinion, on the excursion to the Van Gogh Museum, you will explore the personality of the artist and see his most famous works. I will tell you about the life of the painter, who he loved, where he worked, and with whom he was friends. You will touch upon the complex fate and creativity of a genius.
What to Expect
Explore the collection of paintings
200 canvases, 500 drawings and sketches, and about a thousand letters - in Amsterdam, the largest number of the artist's works is kept. You will examine paintings from the early period, including "The Potato Eaters" - the peak of this period. You will see the famous life-affirming "Sunflowers" and endless fields that reflected Van Gogh's loneliness. The bright colors of the southern nature of France, simple Dutch peasants, and unusual self-portraits - the plots of the paintings will be remembered by you with contradictions and attractive beauty.
In addition, I will show you a collection of canvases collected by the master himself. Works by Paul Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Monet, Manet, Cézanne, and Camille Pissarro will open the world of 19th-century art to you.
Immerse yourself in the life of the great artist
Vincent's fate is no less fascinating than his creativity. The main milestones from his biography await you on the excursion. I will tell you where Van Gogh worked before dedicating himself to art. I will reveal the secrets of his personal life: who the painter was friends with, who he loved, and who responded to his feelings. I will explain why the master needed to paint self-portraits with brushes when photography was already invented, and what connects worn-out shoes, demi-monde ladies, and withered flowers.
Of course, we will also discuss the darkest period of Van Gogh's life: the infamous story of the severed ear and his time in the asylum.
