About this experience
Exciting past and idyllic views of the Mediterranean - Antalya is rich in both! I will gladly show you my favorite city, tell you about its history, which remembers Caesar, pirates, and sultans, share little-known facts. In 3 hours, you will visit the botanical garden and archaeological excavations, find a waterfall in the city center and take colorful photos from viewpoints.
What to expect
Ancient attractions
We will walk and admire the coast of Antalya, shaped like a horseshoe, and along the way I will introduce you to the city's iconic spots:
- You will visit the museum-house where the founder and first president of the Turkish Republic Ataturk lived;
- You will see the archaeological excavations of the presumed mausoleum of a Roman consul, carried out in the area near the Hıdırlık Tower;
- Do not miss the ancient Turkish baths and find a Roman mosaic on the territory of the 16th-century mosque Tekeli Mehmet Pasha;
- At the end of the tour, a secret waterfall will lead us to the monument to the Seljuk Sultan Kay Khusraw I, from which the Muslim history of Antalya began in 1207.
And ancient stories
In 3 hours, I will easily and fascinatingly tell you about the Chronicles of Attaleia (Antalya). About how thanks to the king of Pergamon Attalus II, the first fortress and military base appeared. Why a real pirate republic soon formed on the coast, how these pirates managed to capture Julius Caesar himself, and what connected the son of the local governor with the famous pirate Barbarossa.
