About this experience
I invite you to visit the beautiful ancient city on the North Sea coast, the remarkable royal Hague! During a day in this city, you can do a lot - visit the museum with masterpieces of the Dutch 'Golden Age', stroll through the central streets and squares, optionally stopping by shops or cafes, and take a tram ride to the beach, as the sea is very close.
What to expect
The renovated Mauritshuis Museum reopened its doors in 2014, and since then, in both the new exhibition space and the historic mansion of Prince Maurits, the public has been admiring the masterpieces of Dutch masters. Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer, Jan Steen, as well as Flemish artists Peter Paul Rubens, Jordaens, and Van Dyck's works adorn the silk-draped walls among interiors of different eras.
I will guide you through the museum halls and tell amazing stories from the lives of artists and their creations. I will start my narrative with an introduction about the building and its history. And I will conclude it on the street, orienting you in the city to continue your amazing discoveries.
We can meet at The Hague station and walk to the museum together.
You can end your day in The Hague by visiting Madurodam Park, which is open until 8:00 pm, and in July and August - until 9:00 pm. There, among other miniature buildings, you will definitely see and learn about Mauritshuis, the pride of the Netherlands.
