About this experience
Madurodam is a park of miniature replicas of the most famous Dutch attractions. If you don't have time to visit several cities in the Netherlands, come to The Hague to Madurodam park, and I will tell you what the Netherlands is famous for, what it is proud of. A story about its heroes, monarchs, major brands, customs, and traditions will flow easily, naturally, as we walk along the park pathways between mini-palaces, churches, ships, and airplanes.
Do I need to say that the park is very appealing to children? After all, they will feel like real Gullivers here!
Program
When I was first asked to conduct a tour of Madurodam park, I was surprised: it's all clear there, what is there to talk about? Walk among the replicas of palaces, temples, and mini-canals, admire Dutch life in miniature. But after that tour, I understood that the guide's story will open up new aspects to the guests of the Netherlands. After all, if you know who lived in this specific palace, how the temple was built, or what a particular event depicted by mini-figures is dedicated to, viewing the models will be much more interesting. You may not visit Dutch museums, but it is certainly interesting to find out where the Dutch 'Louvre' and 'Tretyakov Gallery' are located and what they look like. I always supplement my stories with brought illustrations of interiors, 'acting persons,' and documentary footage.
Your children will enjoy loading mini-containers at the port of Rotterdam, extinguishing a fire on a ship, following the loading of candies at the mini-factory, and 'flying' on an airplane. Join them, it's fun! Toddlers will also have a blast - the children's playground in the shape of a huge ship leaves them indifferent.
But even without children, a visit to Madurodam will surely be unforgettable: where else can you see the whole of the Netherlands in an hour and a half?
At the end or in the middle of the tour, I suggest having coffee or other drinks at the 'Panorama' cafe. There is a souvenir shop on the park premises.
