What to Expect

The sacred capital of Armenia
Echmiadzin (Vagharshapat) is a stunningly beautiful city with its atmosphere of Early Middle Ages. You will visit the legendary temples of Ancient Armenia: Zvartnots, the churches of St. Ripsime or Gayane, as well as the Echmiadzin Cathedral from 301-303 AD, one of the first Christian temples on the planet! You will learn about the history of the shrines and be transported back to the early days of the spread of Christianity on Armenian soil.

If time allows upon arrival, you can visit the treasury of Echmiadzin - the museum is open every day except Monday from 10:30-17:00. Here you will see relics such as the Spear of Destiny, with which the tortures of Christ were interrupted, a piece of the Cross on which Jesus was crucified, a sliver of Noah's Ark, and other artifacts.

❗ The Echmiadzin Cathedral is under restoration, only external viewing is included in the program.

• Our program is ideal for those with a long layover at Zvartnots International Airport before another flight. We will take you to Echmiadzin and back.
• We also offer transfers from the airport directly to or from Yerevan.
• If you wish, we can stop on the way to the capital at a local restaurant with excellent cuisine
• In addition, we are open to discussing an extended version of the program if you want to see the maximum on the day of arrival.
