About this experience
This program is your way to immediately feel like welcome guests in Armenia and dive headfirst into Yerevan! Whether you are on a trip to our country or transiting for a few hours - in any case, I will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. In a couple of hours, I will open up our history and culture, answer questions, show iconic places of the city: Republic Square, temples, and the Cascade.
What to expect
Comfortable transfer and stories from a historical guide
The journey from Zvartnots Airport to the center of Yerevan will take about half an hour: during this time, you will see the Surb Arutyun church in the village of Argavand, the Cathedral of the Holy Cross of the Russian Orthodox Church, Yerevan Lake, Victory Bridge, Ararat brandy factory, Noy wine-vodka factory, the mayor's office, Moscow House and even the world's largest American embassy.
I will immerse you in the history of the Armenian capital from its foundation in 783 AD to the modern city project, based on sundials. I will gladly give tips as a local: where and what to buy, avoiding overcharging, what to see outside the city and how to get there, where to eat delicious food and drink coffee.
Yerevan's landmarks
First and foremost, I will take you to the heart of our city - Republic Square, where we will talk about Armenian architecture. Next, you will visit the country's largest cathedral - the Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator - and learn in detail about the rich culture and Christian heritage of the Armenian people. The next stop will be the Cascade: from the top of this monumental complex, you will enjoy panoramas and on a clear day, you will even see Mount Ararat. On the terraces of the Cascade, you will also get acquainted with modern Armenian art and visit the Cafesjian Museum.
Afterwards, I will take you to the hotel or back to the airport if you are in Yerevan in transit.
