What to expect
Burial place of the Arshakuni kings
The tomb of the royal dynasty dates back to the 4th century - it has survived many enemy raids and the change of several epochs. You will explore ancient reliefs on the walls and see the remains of a basilica.
The guide will tell you how Armenia adopted Christianity, will narrate the intriguing history of the Armenian people, and how they managed to preserve their uniqueness.
Teger Monastery
The ancient temple seems to float above the slope of Mount Aragats. You will appreciate the ascetic architecture and decor typical of Armenian churches. If the weather permits, you will enjoy a magnificent view of Ararat - it will appear before you as if on the palm of your hand.
And you will learn about the history of the monastery's appearance - how in the 13th century one woman wanted to build a temple, and another managed to design it.
