About this experience
We will travel in a comfortable car to the southernmost city in Armenia, which is still little known to travelers, and that's a mistake! Here you can find unique subtropical nature and interesting ancient architecture that shows influences from the Persians. In the gardens, locals grow persimmons, figs, pomegranates, olives, and even kiwis with bananas, while the place itself has a rich history. Meghri, which translates as 'honeyed', in the past found itself at the intersection of the interests of three empires: the Ottoman, the Persian, and later the Russian. You will encounter dizzying mountain serpentine roads, green valleys, picturesque gorges, and plateaus. Along the way, we will also visit other famous landmarks: the Shaki waterfall, Tatev Monastery, and the Armenian Stonehenge.
