About this experience
If you think you have already explored Armenia well by visiting all the sights in Yerevan, the local temples and monasteries, then you are deeply mistaken. You should definitely get to know the areas around Mount Aragats. And to enhance your experience, we will treat you to authentic khach. For us, this is not just a dish, but a symbol of Armenian culture and traditions (and a reason to eat deliciously!)
What to Expect
Sacred Peak
Mount Aragats is the highest point in Armenia. It divides several Armenian regions and geographically serves as an important landmark. On the way from Yerevan, you will see how rich the local nature is: you will encounter many small lakes, as well as the sources of several rivers. You will see the remnants of ancient sanctuaries and abandoned ancient settlements. You will also visit the shores of Lake Kari, located at an altitude of 3207 meters in the zone of glacial summit of the mountain.
Armenian Feast
After visiting Lake Kari, we will treat you to a traditional Armenian dish - khach in a national restaurant located near Mount Aragats. Historically, this soup was considered food for the poor, but today it is extremely popular. Classic khach is made from beef hooves, shank, and stomach. It is believed that khach symbolizes the Armenian people's attitude towards their heritage: in life, you should never throw anything away, you never know what will come in handy and bring benefits. The guide will tell you other legends associated with this dish, and then teach you how to eat it properly.
