About this experience
Aragats is the highest mountain in Armenia. Among its four peaks, the southern one is particularly popular due to its accessibility. An old but well-preserved asphalt road leads to it. Along the way, we will encounter the cosmic rays station and the Stone Lake, as well as a gravitational hill where we will have fun and conduct experiments. It will be cozy, active, and very picturesque!
What to expect
Optical illusions of Mount Aragats
We will depart from Yerevan at 7:30. The journey will take about an hour. We will reach Lake Kari (Stone Lake) and start the ascent from there. We will see the cosmic rays research station, the first of its kind in the Soviet Union founded by Armenian physicists. Along the way, we will stop at the gravitational hill of Aragats, leave the car in neutral gear – and ... no, it won't fly, but something interesting will still happen with it.😉
Scenery without deception and the 'biblical' mountain
After the gravitational experiments, we will enjoy the views. They are truly authentic here and will captivate even experienced travelers. In clear weather, Mount Ararat is visible from the top of Aragats. After a long walk, we can refresh ourselves in the cool lake. The ascent will take about 2.5-3 hours, the descent – around 2 hours.
