What to expect
Maritime legends
The royal ship 'Vasa' was one of the most expensive and splendidly decorated warships built in Sweden in the 17th century. When 'Vasa' set sail on its first voyage, the residents of Stockholm stood along the shores to wish it luck. However, they witnessed a catastrophe: 'Vasa' capsized and sank before their eyes. It lay on the bottom for 333 years and was preserved almost 90 percent. You will learn how this ship was preserved over the centuries, witness how it was raised, and even inspect the remains of those unfortunate souls who did not survive the shipwreck. And of course, you will learn about the objects raised from the depths and preserved for posterity. I promise, it will be so fascinating that you will feel like a participant in the events of the 17th century!
