Vikings – who were they? Raiders or great warriors? During the tour of the historical museum, you will not only see unique items of everyday life, armor, and weapons of the Vikings, but also unravel the mysteries of runic stones and messages of brave warriors.
What to expect
Thematic walk through the historical museum. The most important events of the Swedish kingdom are immortalized here in exhibits and relics of past times. We will walk through the part of the museum dedicated to the Viking era. You will see original armor, Viking clothing, and even a trading ship. Examine real runic stones with messages to descendants and the most memorable exhibit that will stay with you for a long time – the gold plundered by the Vikings. You will learn:
- What Viking settlements looked like.
- What role women and children played in the Viking era.
- How the Vikings discovered America.
- What Swedish historians say about Rurik.
- Why real Vikings' helmets were hornless.
