About this experience
On this tour, perfect for families and groups of friends, you will visit Scandinavia's most visited museum, Skansen, and take a walk through the streets of the Old Town. Skansen is a true miniature Sweden. You don't need to travel throughout the country to see how different nationalities lived in Sweden, just visit here, the largest museum-preserve in Europe! During the walk, I will tell you about the history of Sweden, about medieval life, and how Stockholm began.
What to expect
Skansen Museum
At the site of Skansen, on the island of Djurgården, there were only mountains and pine forests, but Arthur Hazelius, a man who passionately loved his homeland, decided to collect houses and estates from all over Sweden on this plot of land. The preserve has preserved the peculiarities of the life and culture of the inhabitants - as soon as you enter Skansen, you will feel like you are in 18th century Sweden. The peaceful residents of that time will be busy with their daily activities and will gladly offer you to taste the most delicious buns from the local bakery or visit the pottery workshop. Perhaps you want to help the lumberjack chop wood? Or sit at a desk in an old school?
Forget about the internet, phone, and modern technologies! As soon as you enter Skansen, you will feel like you are in a fairy tale, and the time spent there will be remembered for a long time.
Stockholm: Old Town
After the museum, we will board a closed water tram and in 7 minutes we will reach the Old Town, where all the main attractions await you. We will walk along an unusual and fascinating route, along the most beautiful streets of Stockholm. I will show you the Big Square, the narrowest alley, the small iron boy, the runic stone, the Royal Palace, the German and Big churches.
In addition, you will be able to taste traditional dishes at the annual fair and watch the changing of the guard (it takes place every day at 12:15, on Sundays at 13:15).
