About this experience
Get to know the city by unraveling what lies behind the grand facades and experiencing life in Stockholm today. Let's start with the kings and royal traditions from the palace, to the habits of ordinary city dwellers.
What to expect
We will visit the 'joyful' and 'sorrowful' churches, walk along medieval streets and squares, peek into the windows of vintage shops and workshops. I will talk about the city, about the island of Stadsholmen, walk through the only island in Stockholm where no one lives. Why did the island in the city center become a ghost island? Where does the oldest ghost in the city live? After a little investigation, we will head to the venue of the most solemn banquet in Sweden - the Nobel Banquet. I will share interesting details of the ceremony, and we will explore the city, known as the City.
Along the way, I will reveal to you some secrets of urban transport movements that are hidden from the eyes of even very observant citizens and travelers. We will discuss topics of social welfare of the country, you will learn many interesting facts about the life of the Swedish population in terms of medical services, insurance, education, and much more.
Standing by the Concert Hall, where the Nobel Prize is awarded, we will go to see the 'Royal Garden,' and then walk out onto the city's most beautiful waterfront. I will tell you about the wealthiest district of Stockholm, Ostermalm, and the life of the middle class. You can end our journey with a delicious lunch or continue with a self-guided walk through the royal hunting grounds, where the famous Vasa and Junibacken museums are located today.
