About this experience
We will visit one of the most modern museums in Tallinn - the interactive Maritime Museum. Here you will experience the air, the sea, and even walk on the seabed. I will help you navigate among the exhibits, tell their stories, and point out interesting details. Besides the official history, museum objects have personal stories that you won't find on the museum plaques. You will also learn about them. With me, simple 'boats' and 'cannons' will reveal their true nature and impress you with their magnificence.
What to expect
You will be able to take a round-the-world trip on the Yellow Submarine, visit a real submarine proudly named after the Estonian national hero 'Lembit', see the powerful sea cannons Kanë that once defended the western borders of the Russian Empire and later - the Republic of Estonia, admire the hydroplane Short 184 hanging under the dome.
I will explain how sea mines work and how this weapon of passive warfare is neutralized. You will find out the uniqueness of hangars for seaplanes - these 'reinforced concrete warehouses'. This is what they were called in 1916, when their construction began.
In the museum, you will have the opportunity to try your hand at sea battles on water and in the air. In the outdoor exhibition, you can visit a real steam-powered icebreaker 'Suur Tõll', look inside the heart of the icebreaker, and explore many of its cabins.
I will gladly guide you through all three elements and make your maritime adventure rich not only in emotions but also in useful knowledge.
