Are you interested in ancient Egyptian history and culture and want to visit one of Egypt's most popular attractions? Then we invite you to our individual tour! We will drive you comfortably straight to Abu Simbel. You will see the secret chambers of priests and pharaohs, learn to decipher rock drawings, and explore the history of the ancient temple.
What to Expect
Our Egyptologist guide will tell you historical facts from the beginning of the temple's construction during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II until today. They will show you the secret chambers of priests, pharaohs, and ancient Egyptians and reveal their secrets.
You will learn:
- who the temple was built in honor of;
- the meanings behind rock drawings and the depictions of ancient Egyptians;
- why the temple was relocated to a new location in 1960;
- on which days you should visit the temple to witness the sun shining directly into the inner sanctuary, illuminating the statues of Ramses II and other gods.
Organizational Details
- The excursion starts early in the morning (we will have to drive 280 km from Aswan and back)
- The price includes: transfer in a comfortable air-conditioned car, services of a Russian-speaking guide, entrance ticket to Abu Simbel
- The day before the excursion, you need to inform us of the name of your hotel (or cruise ship if you are on a cruise) and send a photo of your passport
- Bring a dry lunch pack for breakfast
