About this experience
We invite you to explore the oldest monuments: the largest temple complex in Egypt, the impressive rock-cut temples in Abu Simbel, and other iconic places. We will not limit you with strict time frames. The trip will proceed at a comfortable pace so that you have enough time to thoroughly explore all locations accompanied by engaging stories from the guide.
What to Expect
Day 1
- Departure from Hurghada to Luxor. At 5 am, we will pick you up from the hotel. The minivan journey will take 4 hours with a rest stop.
- Karnak Temple. We will visit one of the largest religious complexes in the world dedicated to the god Amun-Ra. The columns here reach a height of more than 20 meters.
- Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. We will see the unique structure carved directly into the rock. This temple is distinguished by its elegant architectural forms and frescoes depicting trade caravans.
- Lunch at a local restaurant
- Colossi of Memnon. We will be impressed by the two huge granite statues at the entrance to Thebes. The 18-meter colossi are carved from single blocks of stone.
- Valley of the Kings. We will head to the burial place of the New Kingdom pharaohs. The rock-cut tombs feature luxurious frescoes with images from Ancient Egyptian mythology.
- Train ride to Aswan
- Dinner and check-in at the hotel
Day 2
- Departure to Abu Simbel from Aswan by minivan at 5 am. The journey will take 3 hours with a stop for rest.
- Temple complex in Abu Simbel, carved into a 100-meter-high rock. The Great Temple was created in honor of the Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II. It is designed in a way that twice a year - on October 22 and February 22 - the sunlight illuminates the seated statues of gods inside the building. The Small Temple was erected in honor of the pharaoh's wife - Queen Nefertari Meritmut.
- Return to Aswan and visit to the Aswan High Dam - Egypt's pride, designed in the 1960s by Soviet engineers.
- Lunch and departure from Aswan by train to Luxor, then transfer by minivan to Hurghada to your hotel.
Organizational Details
- The price of the tour includes transfer in a private minibus, services of a Russian-speaking guide
- For a group of 2-3 people, the trip will be on a 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander, for 4-6 people - on a 2023 Toyota Hiace
- If needed, I will assist with purchasing tickets and hotel room reservations
- The tour will be conducted by me or another guide from our team
