About this experience
I will help you experience the city through its two 'brands' - oil and Azerbaijani cuisine. You will trace the city's path and understand how black gold has influenced its fate. Stroll through Highland Park, admire Little Venice, and feel the spirit of old Baku. You will also taste the national dishes for lunch or attend an authentic tea ceremony.
What to expect
The birth of the new Baku
In the biography of the ancient city, there is a chapter called 'the era of the oil boom' - this theme will be dedicated to a part of the tour. I will talk about the origins of oil usage, the first drilling rigs, and how black gold has influenced and continues to influence the development of Baku. The narrative will be accompanied by places and landmarks that can be called the energy points of Baku.
- We will walk through the modern Central Park, opened in spring 2019, admire the Tezepir mosque and the Flame Towers from a favorable angle.
- On the promenade, we will see the flower-shaped shopping center, pass by the Ferris wheel and Little Venice, one of the most atmospheric corners of Baku.
- We will take the funicular to the Flame Towers - the symbol of Baku. Walking through Highland Park, you will overlook the entire city, learn about the country's history from medieval khanates to the present day. Additionally, before the second part of the tour, I will show you the Azerbaijani hamam 'tyazyabyay'.
Azerbaijan on a plate and in a glass

After a satisfying walk, we will have lunch at a restaurant in national style, where you will see the selected dishes being prepared. Basturma with tarragon, kebab, sajich, shahplov - the taste of these and other dishes will be complemented by local wine.
☕ For dessert, we will visit the oldest tea house in Baku, where you will participate in a traditional ceremony. You will learn how to brew tea and taste various preserves and sweets, enjoying the view of the evening city lights of Baku.
