Get ready to see all the colors of the City of Winds! You will visit famous and undiscovered places. See how the charm of the Old City merges with the modernist architecture of the new districts. Get acquainted with the unique culture and cuisine. Learn about the oil history of Baku and find out how Marco Polo, Churchill, the Rothschilds, and Nobel are connected to it. What to expect
We will start the day with a cozy meal at an atmospheric place - you will fortify yourself before the journey and learn about the traditions of Baku breakfasts.
Old City. We will go to the roots of the city and stroll through the colorful streets in the heart of Baku. You will explore the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and other ancient monuments. If desired, you can climb the Maiden Tower. Along the way, I will tell you about the first settlements that appeared here even before AD, and the medieval life of the Old City.
Highland Park. From the highest point, you will have a breathtaking view of Baku and the Caspian Bay, the famous boulevard, funicular, Ferris wheel, and almost the entire central part of the capital. You will take bright photos and also learn about the Flame Towers, the city's landmark.
Heydar Aliyev Center. I will introduce you to the wonder of modern architecture and the history of one of the most ambitious projects in the world. Along with the Flame Towers, this deconstructivist masterpiece has become a symbol of modern Baku.
Baku and Oil. The history of the global oil industry is inseparable from our city. You will visit the first oil fields and historical 'favelas' on the hillside. Hear about the period of the oil boom. Find out what connected Marco Polo, Winston Churchill, the Rothschilds, and Nobel with Baku, and also learn why the capital of Azerbaijan is called the Paris of the Caucasus.
Heydar Mosque. The largest mosque in the South Caucasus, where photo shoots are regularly held. This place is not included in many tourist programs, as it is located far from the center, but we will definitely come here together. You will appreciate the majestic structure, as if descended from the pages of an Eastern fairy tale.
