Summer excursion to Lake Shaori and unknown corners of Racha
About this experience
Traveling through the beautiful surroundings of Western Georgia, you will enjoy the stunning nature and architectural heritage of the country, hear the stories of these places, and feel like real hikers - with a field lunch by the campfire and swimming in the lake.
Program
- Our excursion will start in Kutaisi, the capital of Western Georgia. Here we will climb the hill of Ukemerion, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city, the Rioni River, and the distant mountains. Here we will also admire one of the city's oldest buildings - the Bagrati Cathedral (11th century), and you will learn the history of this place.
- After that, we will head to Racha. The picturesque road will take us about 2-2.5 hours. We will arrive at a unique off-the-beaten-path place - an abandoned high-altitude resort with ruins of a disused cable car, abundance of pine trees, and breathtaking mountain air. From the top, you will enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Imereti region. It's an ideal place for contemplation and meditation.
- Having enjoyed the views and taken plenty of exclusive photos, approximately two hours later, we will continue to Lake Shaori. This is one of the largest reservoirs in Georgia. Here we will have a field lunch by the campfire, listen to the legends of ancient Racha, and have the opportunity to swim. We will spend approximately three hours at Lake Shaori, and then return to the meeting point in Kutaisi.
Organizational Details
- Included in the price: transport throughout the route; guide services; 0.5L bottle of water; field lunch by the campfire; unforgettable impressions and good mood.

Partly, because this excursion is not so much about beautiful mountain landscapes, ...
