About this experience
You will visit a winery near Rome, where six generations have been producing quality red, white, sparkling, and dessert wines. The hospitable hosts will show you their estate, talk about family traditions, explain the nuances of winemaking, and take you to the ancient cellar. And then invite you to a tasting and lunch with dishes made from farm products.
What to Expect
Wines in the vicinity of Rome
On the way to the winery, you will learn about the natural characteristics of the region and the origin of the special composition of its soil, thanks to which the wines acquire a unique taste and aroma. You will hear about the centuries-old traditions of Mediterranean winemaking and the place of family estates in the lives of Italians. And along the way, you will admire the beautiful landscapes of the Roman surroundings.
Family Winery
In the company of the hosts, you will stroll through vineyards planted over a century ago and learn about the grape varieties grown. You will get acquainted with the history of the family business and traditions that have been carefully preserved for several generations. You will see the process of producing white, red, and dessert wines, with a separate story about the sparkling wine spumante. You will also visit a 19th-century cellar, dug by hand, where you will be explained the intricacies of its use.
Tastings and Lunch
For each type of wine, you will be offered suitable snacks: cheeses, meats, sweet cookies. And after the tasting, you will enjoy lunch in the cozy company of winemakers - in the summer in a gazebo, and in winter - in a closed restaurant. You will be treated to pasta with ragu and other exquisite dishes that the hosts prepare themselves from home products from neighboring farms. Cozy, beautiful, delicious, and very exciting!
