Throughout the centuries, the capital of Bulgaria has been called by different names - Serdika, Triaditsa, Sredets. We will drive and walk through the pages of the city's history. You will see the oldest building in Sofia and stroll down the street where ancient Romans used to walk. Learn about the different epochs of these places. Visit picturesque temples and explore the stone river.
What to Expect
Trip and City Walk
We will drive around the historic center of Sofia, descend to the level of ancient Serdica. Walk down the main street preserved since the times of the Roman Empire. I will tell you about the city's origins and its development stages in different epochs.
Temples and Stone River
We will visit the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the St. Sophia Basilica. In the courtyard of the Presidency, admire the 4th-century Rotunda of St. George - the oldest building in the city. Drive along Bulgaria Boulevard to Boyana Residence, where you will see the Boyana Church - a UNESCO-protected cultural heritage site. Then, head to Vitosha Natural Park to see the stone river.
