About this experience
To better understand and feel the city, it is necessary to take a walk around it. I will show you the most interesting landmarks in the center of Sofia, introduce you to the architecture and history of the city, tell you about the intricate fate of ancient churches. You will learn a lot about local traditions and will be able to explore Bulgarian cuisine on your own.
What to expect
Walk through the oldest part of Sofia
You will see the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Serdica, walk along the streets where emperors and legions once tread - and I will tell you what history tells us about that distant period. You will learn why the city is named Sofia.
The past and present of the churches of the Bulgarian capital
We will visit one of the oldest churches in Europe - a building that has served as a bathhouse, mosque, and warehouse. I will show you a unique place - a quadrangle of religious tolerance. You will acquaint yourself with the difficult fate of Sofia's churches and cathedrals, touch miraculous icons if desired, and even write a letter to Father Seraphim, who they say continues to help people to this day.
Bulgarian cuisine
If you want to get to know the national cuisine, I will gladly recommend restaurants where you can try traditional Bulgarian dishes and relax with a glass of fresh white or aromatic red wine.
