About this experience
The ancient distilleries 'Noi' and 'Ararat' will tell you all about the history of Armenian brandy production. You will learn about local grape varieties and the first winemakers of the region, the rules of storing and aging the drink. You will see the famous cellars and learn the basics of tasting. And after that, I will guide you to two traditional markets where you can find the best farm products and handmade items.
What to expect
'Armenian Brandy'
We will visit the brandy distillery 'Noi', located in the famous 16th-century Erevan fortress. Here you will see secret passages and catacombs, a charming courtyard with ancient cannons. During the tour of the distillery museum, you will explore the storage area, be amazed by the number of barrels, and understand the operation principle of Shustov's manual and steam pumps. The tour will end in the tasting room: you will enjoy the local drink of various aging and buy it at a favorable price in the brand store.
'Ararat', Delivered to the Kremlin'
The next stop will be the legendary 'Ararat' distillery, where the world's most famous brandy, allegedly loved by Churchill, is produced. In addition to tasting, you will hear a tour and get acquainted with Armenia's millennia-old winemaking culture, modern production technologies, and the distillery's secrets.
After the tasting, we will visit the central market 'Gum,' where you can buy the freshest fruits and products brought directly from Armenian villages, as well as farm seafood and meat.
Flea Market
The history of the famous 'Vernissage' market on Republic Square dates back to 1980 when paintings were still sold here. Over time, the market expanded and enriched with handmade products. There is no better place to get acquainted with the national flavor and buy souvenir gifts for your loved ones!
