About this experience
On the tour, you will see the main attractions of the city and learn how from a simple fishing village San Sebastian turned into one of the largest cities in the Basque Country and an aristocratic resort in Spain on the shores of the Bay of Biscay, with excellent cuisine, beautiful buildings, and endless beaches of pure white sand.
What to expect
- You will learn about the glorious and challenging history of this seaport, see the Old Town with its unique main square, and be able to try the famous Basque pintxos and wines.
- Strolling along La Concha promenade, considered the most beautiful in Europe, you will immerse yourself in the spirit of the bygone 'Belle Époque' times of Queen Maria Cristina, whose vision transformed an ordinary fishing village into a luxurious royal resort.
- You will be impressed by the luxurious mansions and palaces of San Sebastian, still retaining the glamorous splendor and amazing stories of the past.
- On the Ondarreta promenade, I will show you the sculptures 'The Wind Comb' by the world-famous Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida.
- And at the end of the tour, we will take an old funicular to Mount Igeldo, from where you will have a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire bay in the shape of a seashell.
