About this experience
Pamplona is a charming city with a history of more than 2000 years. We will explore its iconic places, picturesque corners, and Hemingway's favorite cafe. I will talk about the Basques, the Roman general Gnaeus Pompeius, the Navarrese kings, Napoleon, and the Way of Saint James. I will share the traditions of the San Fermín festival and local cultural peculiarities.
What to expect
Plaza del Castillo. It will impress you with its size and elegance. I will show you the most famous cafe in the city and tell you how it is connected to Hemingway's novel "Fiesta."
Paseo de Sarasate. Magnificent boulevard in the heart of Pamplona, named after the famous violinist and composer. I will share interesting details of his biography.
Cathedral of Santa Maria la Real. We will visit the city's most important temple, where kings were crowned, princes were wed, cortes meetings were held, and parliament gathered. You will admire its exquisite Gothic-style cloister.
Padre Moret Street. We will stroll along one of the most colorful streets of Pamplona, examining 20th-century buildings and modern architecture.
In addition, you will see: the fortress walls, the city hall, the bullring, the churches of San Saturnino and San Nicolás. Optionally, you can visit a local bar and try the traditional snack "pintxos."
