About this experience
In 1961, a new city Shevchenko (now Aktau) appeared on the map of Kazakhstan, on the shores of the Caspian Sea. And soon this seemingly severe city received the prestigious Patrick Abercrombie Award for urban planning and design in the category of 'Positive Impact of Man on Nature'. Few have been honored with such an award! How did Aktau manage this - you will learn on the excursion.
What to expect
During 3 hours, you will immerse yourself in the past of the city, built against the natural conditions during a period when grand records were being set and dangerous experiments were being conducted for the bright future of the USSR. You will hear stories of individuals who influenced Aktau. Enjoy a pleasant promenade along the famous cliff trail and breathe in the sea breeze.
And if you wish, after the excursion, we will go for tea to the hospitable hostess' house.
