About this experience
We will take a walk through the Old Town, visiting colorful establishments with vermouth. I will introduce you to the charming Maïra - the hostess of a vermuteria in the Gothic Quarter. You will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the past century in the oldest bodega in the Raval district, where it is easy to meet characters from the pages of Bukowski's novels. And in the Born neighborhood, you will taste vermouth sitting by real barrels!
What to Expect
A world of vermouth and tapas
You will appreciate traditional Catalan vermouth and tapas - special snacks to accompany it. How about the combination of aromatic sweet vermouth with a salty olive stuffed with anchovy? Or would you prefer to tame a light alcoholic bitterness with tiny peppers with goat cheese? Perhaps you will decide to try the famous Catalan 'brave potato' patatas bravas with a spicy sauce?
Interesting stories
While you taste drinks and snacks, I will tell you a lot of interesting things. How vermouth is made, how Hippocrates also conducted experiments on infusing wine with wormwood flowers, and how vermouth consumption culture evolved in Barcelona. What unites Catalan vermouth with Italian martini, what is the 'vermouth hour' in the life of a Spaniard, and why time for locals is a conditional thing.
Organizational Details
Drinks and snacks are paid for separately. The approximate cost of vermouth is around 3-4 euros per glass.
