About this experience
Get ready to wander through the maze-like streets of Phuket Town - the once wealthiest city in southern Thailand. As you admire the facades of ancient mansions and shop houses, you will imagine what the island's capital was like in the past, and then uncover its present character. Unusual architectural details, film locations, and cafes - step by step you will immerse yourself in the local way of life and feel the spirit of the city.
What to Expect
Old Town Architecture
Let's start by talking about the origins of the island's development and construction, what was the main source of its income. And then we will thoroughly study its main attractions:
- colonial mansions where the owners and managers of tin mines lived
- the 'red light' street
- one of the filming locations of the movie 'The Beach'
Gastronomic Delight
Moving on to the most delicious part of the program - we will look at, discuss and, if desired, visit places that are most popular among both local residents and island guests:
- a family-owned ice cream cafe serving treats based on traditional recipes using local ingredients
- a fruit cafe where all dishes are prepared using the 'king of fruits' - durian
- Michelin-recommended restaurants where you can have a hearty lunch or dinner for a modest amount (200-300 baht per dish)
Organizational Details
Visits to dining establishments are paid for independently and are not included in the tour price.
