About this experience
A sightseeing tour of the right bank of the Vltava River will allow you to see the main attractions, enjoy the diverse architecture of Prague, learn its secrets and legends. Luxurious squares, cathedral spires, houses with their own 'golden' names, numerous monuments, and beautiful swans... You will not only immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this mysterious, enchanting city, but also understand how and why Prague received these names.
What to expect
Beauty of architecture
Czechs manage to depict their legends, history, and culture everywhere: from the facades of houses to the fences in front of buildings under construction. You will learn how and why this happens. You will walk through a city that embodies all architectural styles: just in the Old Town Square, you will see Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau. Admiring the magnificent buildings, you will also discover the history and epic of the Czech people, aided by the frescoes of Mikulash Alesh. Additionally, you will also touch upon modern art: I will show you the unusual statue of Saint Wenceslas by the controversial Czech architect David Cerny and the rotating Head of Franz Kafka.
The most interesting from history
Old Town and New Town: seemingly, these names speak for themselves. But on the tour, you will discover how things really are: how the New Town was formed and whether it opposed the Old Town, how and why the four cities of Prague merged into one. Of course, you will learn about the history of famous Prague landmarks: you will visit Wenceslas Square and Republic Square, the Municipal House and Powder Tower, the Estates Theatre and the Commander sculpture, the Old Town Square and the Orloj clock. You will hear about the time and why it is considered the 'Golden Age of Czechia', learn about the estates of apothecaries and book printers.
Czech legends
Interesting historical facts will be interspersed with equally interesting legends of Czech lands. I will tell you where the names Bohemia, Czechia, and Prague come from, why the Orloj clock is the fame and curse of the city, about the story of the two kings, and the secrets that Charles Bridge holds. You will also see the Lucherna Palace and the New Town Hall, where ancient continuous elevators have been preserved, almost extinct in Europe (if desired, you can take a ride on one of them).
