About this experience
To the edge of the island where the sun sets. Where the highest cliffs and most picturesque waterfalls are found. We will drive through the entire western part of Madeira, stop at beautiful locations, taste traditional dishes, learn about the island's history and current life, and of course, capture magnificent photos.
What to Expect
Following the Sun
Our first stop will be the fishing village of Camara-de-Lobos. Its history is linked to the name of Winston Churchill, who cherished this place and painted watercolors here. You will stroll through the village and learn where the politician lived and worked during the sunset years.
After captivating panoramas, we will head to Cabo Girao - one of the highest cliffs in Europe. Standing at the edge above the clouds, you will be inspired by views of the Atlantic and take fantastic snapshots.
In the cozy town of Ribeira Brava, we will explore the ancient chapel of St. Benedict, and then, crossing the pass, we will reach San Vicente - to explore underground caves.
The next stop will be a viewpoint overlooking the waterfall 'Veil of the Bride' and the old road. You will appreciate the metaphorical name of the waterfall and enjoy its view.
And the final point of the route will be the city of Porto Moniz. The place is famous for natural pools created by nature itself on the shore of the ocean. You will have time to swim in them and admire the beauty. And then - a traditional lunch of meat and fish dishes with a view of the ocean!
