About this experience
How did the magnificent Tropical park appear on the island? What is "azulejo"? What does Madeira cuisine taste like? I will share historical facts, local legends, and secret spots. And you will explore the main attractions, immerse yourself in the island's nature, its silence, and the rich aroma of the forest air.
What to expect
Aristocratic Madeira
First, we will head to the Monte district - a favorite place of noble families on the island. Here you will see the ancient church, where the last emperor of Austria-Hungary rests, and hear the semi-legendary story associated with it, stroll through the Tropical Park, and admire exotic plants and lakes with Japanese carps. We will visit the magnificent collection of ceramic pictures "azulejo" and talk about key historical events of Portugal.
Breathtaking Views
Pico do Arieiro - one of the highest mountain peaks of Madeira, will reveal mesmerizing panoramic views of the mountain ranges. And in the town of Santana, you will see traditional Madeiran houses where locals lived up to the 20th century. After exploring the surroundings, we will head to the San Lorenzo peninsula - the easternmost tip of Madeira. Steep cliffs, flowery fields, raging waves, and rocks - the surrounding landscape will be the best backdrop for photos!
Immersing in the Past
We will drive through a village that used to be a center of whaling and conclude the tour at the viewpoint of Pico do Facho, offering an unforgettable view of the bay where the early Madeira explorers landed and the airport around which aircraft circulate.
During the excursion, you will be offered a traditional lunch with wine, espetada fish, Madeiran skewer "espetada", trout, cod, and various local seafood.
