About this experience
Pedro Almodovar is in many ways the 'most' for world cinema: the most famous, the most unusual, the most provocative Spanish director of the last 40 years. The action in most of his films takes place in Madrid, making the Spanish capital known abroad as a very stylish and liberal city. Let's walk through Madrid and see for ourselves: it provokes creativity!
What to Expect
🎬 Almodovar's Madrid of cult films includes tourist-filled squares like Mayor and Santa Ana, bohemian Chueca, and hipster Malasana. It is the quiet streets of ancient La Latina, the luxurious bourgeois district of Hieronymites, and the colorful multicultural Lavapies. We will not only visit Almodovar's favorite filming locations, but also feel their atmosphere.
🎬 I will tell you how the director, his actors, and close friends took part in the development of Madrid even before they became rich and famous. They were part of the so-called 'Madrid movement' of the late 70s and 80s, when after a long dictatorship, the youth of the capital awakened from a cultural slumber.
🎬 In addition to walks and discussions about cinema, we can have a sweet vermouth or delicious wine in the bars where Almodovar filmed, was a regular, or accidentally found his muses - such as the inimitable Rossy de Palma.
