Path to Self: Besakih Temple, Balinese Epic Museum, and Craftsmen Village
About this experience
The temple of Pura Besakih in Bali is known as the 'Mother of Temples,' and visiting it is a special spiritual experience. If you want to explore yourself or seek advice, we will arrange a personal conversation with the local monk Manku Jati, who can see people's auras and chakras. And then we'll introduce you to the everyday life of the 'Island of Gods' in a journey through museum halls and a traditional village.
What to Expect
The desire to relax, enjoy life, and fall in love with it often leads travelers to Bali (remember the heroine of 'Eat Pray Love'). We will show you the best places on the island and its life in all its diversity. Silence and tranquility, magnificent landscapes, special energy – our trip will have everything you need to restore inner peace!
Visit to Pura Besakih Temple and the Opportunity for a Personal Conversation with Manku Jati
If you truly want to immerse yourself in Balinese culture, you must visit the grand temple Pura Besakih at the foot of the sacred Mount Agung. Here you will encounter Bali's religious life: colorful ceremonies, offerings to the gods, meditations, and locals in traditional attire. And by prior arrangement, the priest Manku Jati – healer and seer – will welcome you.
Introduction to Balinese Epic
After visiting the temple, you will delve into the atmosphere of ancient traditions and the Balinese epic at the Kerta Gosa Museum. Its main building is the former palace of justice where court sessions were held many decades ago. The ceiling is richly decorated with frescoes depicting Hindu epics, the stories of which will be narrated by the guide.
Craftsmen Villages
To conclude the tour, you will explore traditional crafts. Crafts and creativity play a huge role in Balinese life. Our program includes three villages specializing in wood, gold and silver, as well as batik – the traditional technique of fabric painting with wax. Here you can learn about the process of making various items and buy handmade souvenirs.
