About this experience
Tokyo is a mirror world: high-speed trains and innovative robots coexist with ancient temples and labyrinths of old streets. Remaining an Empire, Japan is ahead of the rest of the world. I will introduce you to the yin and yang of Tokyo life and explain how antiquity and modernity coexist.
What to Expect
Philosophy of Happiness
We will visit a religious relic of modern Tokyo - a 1703 Buddhist temple, where you can participate in a Homa ritual. According to Buddhist belief, sacred fire vaporizes human sins and delusions. You can clear your thoughts, make a wish by writing it on a wooden plaque. Here, away from noisy and crowded areas, you will immerse yourself in the coziness of authentic alleys. You will also get acquainted with the most popular types of sake, snacks, and Japanese sweets, purchase colorful souvenirs and totems.
Voices of the Past and the Brilliance of the Megalopolis
We will reach the Edo village - an open-air museum - and I will tell you about the daily life of indigenous people from past centuries. You will learn how the streets of the capital looked in the past, the dwellings and clothing of the townsfolk, get acquainted with the entertainment and gastronomic preferences of the Japanese of that time, and feel the spirit of the Tempo period.
Then we will visit one of the most beautiful parks in Tokyo, which amazes with its tranquility and brightness of colors simultaneously. Here I will introduce you to the peculiarities of creating Japanese parks and their purposes.
Tokyo of the Future
And then we will embark on an exciting journey through futuristic Tokyo on an unmanned train. On the island of the future, we will see the only urban beach with modern ships and ancient boat-bars, on which you can also take a ride in your free time or after the tour. This beach is a favorite relaxation spot for all the youth. On the way, we will encounter a huge robot as tall as a 7-story building, stroll through a 70s alley of the last century, admire the most beautiful bridges and monuments presented to Tokyo residents by inhabitants from other countries.
