Royal Promenade
Pitti is perhaps the largest and most magnificent palace in Florence. It's hard to believe that this huge museum once served as the home to the great Dukes of Tuscany and Italian kings. Strolling through the square, marveling at the Quattrocento architecture while listening to entertaining stories about the palace's construction, you will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of luxury and the measured life of the great Italian dynasties. We will walk through the Boboli Gardens, reach the secret grottoes through vine-covered alleys, discover elegant statues and fountains, and also visit the amphitheater where all festivals and ceremonies took place.
Treasures Behind Lacy Doors
Inside, you will be amazed by the rich interior: white and golden stucco, valuable tapestries, silk wallpaper, and unique authentic furniture. The famous Medici family brought all their collections here: a collection of art pieces, sculptures, silverware, and precious stones. Only in the Palatine Gallery are there no less than 500 paintings! You will see 11 paintings by Raphael, works by Titian, Botticelli, Caravaggio, Rubens. Examine the exquisite frescoes on the ceilings, Japanese and French porcelain vases, tables with Florentine mosaic. You will learn many interesting facts not only about the palace museums but also about its fascinating history and residents.
